Pressure featuring Ronnie Laws

When tenor saxophonist/bandleader Ronnie Laws cooked up the Pressure album in 1979, he had already established himself as one of the most promising young musicians in contemporary jazz. Pressure, however, was not the straight-ahead jazz project that some critics had anticipated from Ronnie. Released on the heels of his popular “Friends and strangers” Lp, the album found Laws creating a mixture of jazz, R&B, pop and other elements in tandem with his six-member back-up band. While the album concept is credited to his group, Pressure definitely bears the stamp of Laws' eclectic arrangement and production ideas. Melvin Robinson on guitar, Barnaby Finch on synthesizers & keyboards, Bobby Vega on bass, Pat Kelly on guitar, Art Rodriguez on druma and percussion, Ronnie Laws on tenor sax & vocals. Also vocals by Betty Jo Miller, Samuel Moore, Sandra and Johnny Laws. Produced by himself. I have chosen killer track entitled "Can you feel it".
