C.P.Love - Falling 1987



C.P.Love is one of the best contemporary performers of blues music. His real name is Carrollton Pierre Love. He was born in New Orleans on 1 May 1945, and raised in the city on it’s jazz and R & B roots. He started in the 60s when he played with various bands. His first release was in 1967 on King Walk Records.
CP Love began opening for top acts in the early 70's for entertainers such as BB King and Fats Domino. He has performed at many Blues and Jazz Festivals, including New Orleans' famous Jazz Fest as well as appearances from California to New York and to Canada at the Montreal Blues Festival, with over 250,000 people in attendance.
His music style ranges from Blues to Soul to R&B and Jazz. He has released only singles from the 60's until 80's. In 1987 he released an EP on his own label called CP Love Productions. EP includes four (4) songs. One of them is entitled "Falling".


All the songs were recorded at Mars Studio, Aptos,CA. Produced by Ken Kraft and Tiran Porter. The musicians were Ken Kraft and Warren Nabonne on guitars, Craig Owens, Harold Scott and Tiran Porter on bass, Jim Norris and Tom Williams on drums, Gene Barnholt and Keith Vinet on keyboards, Ruben Ramos on congas, Danny Hull and Nancy Wright on sax, Jeff Lewis, Ed Morrison on trumpets and Marvin Goss on trombone. Backing vocals by Tiran Porter, C.P. Love and Craig Owens.

I was CP's Manager at that time and helped put these 4 songs together including the artwork and jacket cover and Logo. These songs should have been famous. They were amazing...
