Was there in fact a 1980 LP on Rene Records called 'Freddie Gorman' ?? As far as I know one has never been sold, but I hear whispers amongst my connections that a modern soul fanatic in Japan has either an acetate of it, or a dubbed reel of it, possibly the original reel but I think he said acetate, and that it contains some songs from the 1997 CD release (earlier versions? I've never heard the 1997 cd so obviously if that cd is 97 material they arent the exact same songs anyway, plus the tracks from this 7in of course).<br />So, I guess I could believe an acetate might exist, but I wonder if they pressed any? Some small promo batch or something? But then a lot of times they'd promote a nonexistant album on a 45 that never got cut in any form and maybe my sources are telling tall tales.
