Jeb Stuart - Baby Let’s Get Together Tonight 1982 (45)



Jeb Stuart (A.K.A Charles Jones) was born in Memphis June 2, 1945. His first single was released as Charles Jones on Wing Records in 1956. As Jeb Stuart released his first single on Shar Records in 1960. Then he recorded many songs for various labels. Stuart continued into the 70s and 80s on his new Esquire International label.
In 1982 Esquire International Records released a 7inch entitled "Baby let’s get together tonight / You better believe it baby". From this 7 inch, I like the song "baby let's get together tonight". Composed by himself. Arranged by Mike Levine, Billy Ross and Jeb Stuart. Stuart’s vocals are brilliant. A southern soul man who deserves much greater recognition.

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). This album was the second album from the Mugleston Family. The group sold nearly 2000 copies. The album was produced by Darwin Lamm. Arranged by Ken Harrison. Vocal arranged by Desiree Mugleston. Hello my friends, as a fan of Eddie Jefferson I decided to make an article about his murder in 1979. Eddie Jefferson was one of the most innovative singers of jazz music. The saxophonist Richie Cole and Eddie Jefferson had created a great friendship and partnership from the mid 70s. It was one night in early 1976, when alto saxophonist Richie Cole and vocalist Eddie Jefferson were both participants in the same New York City gig. Despite there was a big age gap between Eddie and Richie, they found a deep musical chemistry. For about 4 years, they were touring as a pair around the states with a minivan, playing just about everywhere until 1979. On the 9th of May 1979,  Eddie Jefferson was shot dead in the streets of Detroit. After completing his live performance at Baker's Keyboard Lounge, he left the venue with his road manager and a female friend.
