Virginia Smith & Company - Oh, Tell Him Lp

Virginia Smith was an unknown songwriter and singer of gospel music. She started writing songs in the 70s. In 1976 she formed a label called Cindy Records. She released two albums. The first was released under the name "Virginia Matlock Smith" and it was recorded live. This album entitled "The glory of the lord is here" was released on V.M.S Records in the 70s.
Some of the musicians who appeared on the album were Ronnie Jackson on keyboard, Roy Jackson and Ronald Goss on saxophone, Johnnie Black on drums, Charlie Taylor and Elisa Hooks on guitars.

In the 80s, she released the second album entitled "Oh, tell him" under the name Virginia Smith & Company that was released in two labels. In 1983 it was released on Tempo Music Publication. The next year, it was released on Morada Records.


The musicians who participated in this album were Charles R.Tresvant on piano, Elisa R.Hooks on bass, Marion "Wolf" Collins on drums,  Greg Allen on percussion, Paul Evans on guitar, Jim Sellers & Jay Sollenberger on trumpet, Marvin Hart & Bill Hartman on trombone, Dave Brandon & Marshall DeMuxnck on saxophone & flute. Finally Drew Dimal on synthesizer and Mark Hayes on fender rhodes. Vocals by Barbara Verser, Ella Theus & Patricia Ann McCoy.
