The story behind Richard Stepp's success!

About a year ago, I found an unknown sample with my friend Nicolas Drosos (www.chicwise.blogspot.com). A week later we sent this sample to Paul Collins known for his Radio show “The Soul Cellar” on Solar Radio. Paul tracked down this unknown track. The track was “Caught up in a whirlwind” by RICHARD STEPP from 1979 !!! Then Paul bought the original LP and played this track on his show. In a few days this track became a big success (Top Ten on Radio stations in England). After one year, Expansion Records released it as a 7”inch reissue and was also included in the recent Soul Togetherness Vol 8 compilation.


Even CD BABY re-released this week Stepp's album on CD !!!!

The Muglestons - The Muglestons 1977 Lp

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). This album was the second album from the Mugleston Family. The group sold nearly 2000 copies. The album was produced by Darwin Lamm. Arranged by Ken Harrison. Vocal arranged by Desiree Mugleston. The Murder of Eddie Jefferson in 1979

Hello my friends, as a fan of Eddie Jefferson I decided to make an article about his murder in 1979. Eddie Jefferson was one of the most innovative singers of jazz music. The saxophonist Richie Cole and Eddie Jefferson had created a great friendship and partnership from the mid 70s. It was one night in early 1976, when alto saxophonist Richie Cole and vocalist Eddie Jefferson were both participants in the same New York City gig. Despite there was a big age gap between Eddie and Richie, they found a deep musical chemistry. For about 4 years, they were touring as a pair around the states with a minivan, playing just about everywhere until 1979. On the 9th of May 1979,  Eddie Jefferson was shot dead in the streets of Detroit. After completing his live performance at Baker's Keyboard Lounge, he left the venue with his road manager and a female friend.
