Solomon Burke - You And Your Baby Blues 1974 (45)



Hello my friends, sadly I will not present my show tomorrow on the web radio Coni-OnAir. For this reason, I decided to present you a song which I think is one of the best songs that Solomon Burke has ever recorded. I'm talking about the song "You And Your Baby Blues". It was composed by Jerry Styner and Solomon wrote the lyrics. It was released as a 45 in the late of 1974 on Chess Records and in 1975 reached at #19 on the R&B charts on Billboard. It was also included on the album "Music To Make Love By". The album reached at #54 on the R&B charts on billboard. The album also includes the long version of the song "You And Your Baby Blues". 
Originally the song was released under the name "Baby Blues". Totally, the album includes some very nice songs. He recorded and released two albums on Chess Records. My copy mentions that release in 1975.

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson.
