Some days ago I saw a vinyl record 45 on ebay that I have it in my personal vinyl collection. This record 45 was sold for $338 . Wow I don't believe it. Hello my friends, I would like to describe the story behind the release of this vinyl record. It was one night several months ago. If I remember right, 8th November 2018. I used to stay on my PC for many hours. I received a message from the pianist, arranger and producer Ronald Foster. He was active on his facebook account. I had come in contact with him several years ago. I replied to him straight away. As we were talking about music, he showed me a rare video in which Ronald and 3 singers (one male and 2 female singers) appeared in a local TV show in the early 80's. It was a gospel choir. Ronald Foster was on piano. As I was listening to them, I asked Ronald about the male singer, because I thought he had a great and deep voice. Ronald Foster said to me his name was Lou Watson. Seconds later, Ronald told me wait... "I remembered that I have recorded a few demo songs with him which are unreleased until today". Wow I yelled and I asked him if I can list

Hello my friends, a few days ago I had the great pleasure to meet the saxophonist George Katsakis. It was a great time and experience for me. He served as a member of the 50's and 60's group The Royaltones along with the guitarist Dennis Coffey and the bassist Bob Babbitt. Both musicians were members of the famous band The Funk Brothers. William Clarence “Billy” Eckstine was a vocalist and bandleader of jazz and bop big band music. He was born on July 8, 1914 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvannia and passed away on March 8, 1993 in Pittsburg at the age of 78.  In 1939 Eckstine joined Earl Hines’ Grand Terrace Orchestra and stayed with the band as vocalist and occasionally, trumpeter, until 1943. In 1944, he formed his own big band which was a source for young musicians who would reshape jazz by the end of the decade, including Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, Miles Davis, Art Blakey, Charlie Parker, and Fats Navarro. The Billy Eckstine Orchestra was the first bop big-band. He was touring frequently with his band across the country and Europe. He became popularly known as Mr.B and except for vocals, he was also playing  trumpet, valve trombone and guitar. Even though, the collaboraton between Quincy Jones and Billy Eckstine started in the early 60's, in 1976 they collaborated again and the result was a single

Hello my friends, I decided to present you one of my favorite 45. Basic Black & Pearl was a studio group from Canada. The members of the group were probably the pianist Leon Aronson, the guitarist Bobby Cohen, the drummer Marty Simon and the bassist David Nash. The lead vocalist was Sharon Lee Williams.  The group released only singles from 1975 to 1980. All the singles were released on WAM Records. The label was owned by Leon Aronson. Some songs are great such as the song " There'll Come A Time, There'll Come A Day " that was released in 1975 and the song " Mystery Dancer " that was released in 1980. Today I'm presenting you one more great song entitled " We've Gone Too Far ". It was released as a single in 1977. The flip-side of the record 45 is the song " Love Signs ". " We've Gone Too Far " was written by a fabulous composer called Carlyle Miller. He has written a few great songs for Canadian artists

The sound of the song " Close Your Eyes And Turn Me On " attracted my attention. It is a nice ballad that was written by Tanden Hayes .  He also released a single in 1976 on the same label, CYMA Record Corporation. The other song " The Seed Of Music " is also a ballad. Sandra Jeanne Brown is a professional soprano singer. She has appeared as featured soloist with Symphony Orchestras throughout the United States and Europe. Career highlights include the national and international tour of Houston Grand Opera’s production of Porgy and Bess, and leading roles in premiere performances of Zabette and The Opera Singer.
