Hello my friends, this Sunday I'll be back in the studio. I will have the pleasure of presenting you a few unreleased recordings by the singer, guitarist and composer, from Huntington, Kip Carmen. I will also reveal to you the original recording of a song by Chi-Lites "Close To You". This song was included in the CD Soul Togetherness 2005. It was released by Expansion Records. The CD mentions that the song was written by the great singer and composer of the group, Eugene Record. The production was by Marshall Thompson. As I told you, I will reveal to you the original recording which is exactly identical with the song on the version of Expansion Records. But there is a main difference. The original recording includes a solo electric guitar. This segment has been removed from the version of Expansion Records. I want to underline that Expansion included again the song "Close to You" in the various "Soul Cafe" in 2012. I want to note that the CD was compiled by Richard Searling and Ralph Tee. Due to this fact, I decided to present during the second hour of my broadcast a tribute to the lead singer and composer of the group Chi-Lites, Eugene Record. The Muglestons - The Muglestons 1977 Lp

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson. This production featured Motown-style musical arrangements by Danny Holgate and Horace Ott and direction by Billy Wilson. The show closed on February 13, 1977 after 239 performances and 12 previews.
