Leslie Smith



Born 28th September 1949, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Leslie Smith is based in Los Angeles.
In 1973, Peter Bunetta formed the group 'Crackin' and Leslie joined the group that same year. The band released 'Crackin'- I' in 1975, followed by 'Makings Of A Dream' in 1977, 'Crackin' in 1977 and 'Special Touch' in 1978.



This great track is taken from the last album entitled "Nobody else". Solo sax by Ernie Watts.



Leslie is, however, best remembered, amongst soul fans, for his solo album 'Heartache'. The album was released on Elektra Records in 1982. The album included 'It's Something', a track that was penned by Brenda Russell and appearred on her 'Two Eyes' album a couple of years later. The track was, also, covered by Lalah Hathaway on her 1989 debut outing.
Leslie, also, duetted with Merry Clayton on the track 'Before The Night Is Over'.



Additionally, the track 'Love's A Heartache' was penned by Ned Doheny and was later recorded by the Kasu Matsui Project. In 1992, he moved to T-Jam Records, a Polydor subsidiary, for the album 'Les Is More'. That album contained an updated version of 'It's Something'.

Two further releases followed in the Nineties for the Waterbug and Renegade imprints.

The Muglestons - The Muglestons 1977 Lp

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). Sir James Randolph - The Sophisticated Funk of James Randolph 1981 Lp

Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson. This production featured Motown-style musical arrangements by Danny Holgate and Horace Ott and direction by Billy Wilson. The show closed on February 13, 1977 after 239 performances and 12 previews.
