Numonics - Forever and a day 1982

Numonics was a soul group from Oakland, in the Bay area. They recorded one and only album entitled " Rollin " on Hodisk Records in 1982. The same year they released single entitled " You lied / Forever and a day " on the same label. Both of these songs were included on the album. I have chosen the track " Forever and a day ". Signs & Wonders - Touch 1984 Lp

This ultra rare gospel/soul album was recorded at Martin Sound Studios. Signs & Wonders were William Mack, Dianna Ross and George Cofield on keyboards, Wyman Thomas on drums, Rommell Trotter on bass and vocals. Robin Donald, Teresa Ross, Sandra Cofield and Anette Thomas on vocals. Arranged by George Cofield. Produced by Saint Mark Productions. I chose two tracks entitled " Let him have this way " and " Have you made Jesus the choice ". Composed by Rommell Trotter and Robin Donald,George Cofield respectively. Power - Power 1982 Lp

Power recorded one and only fantastic album in 1980-81. It was released on Malaco Records in 1982. The members were Ken Jones, Darryl Drapper, Wendell Watson, Pat Daneil and Bruce Pierson. Power was organized by Bruce Pierson. Before Malaco Records in 1978-79, they performed songs of the Temptations. One of the Temptation songs they use to perform was called "POWER", they decided to take on that name. They signed with Malaco Records in 1980 and recorded a long playing single "Play It Again Sam" and a regular single with "Groovin" by the Young Rascals and "You're Everything I Always Wanted" in 1980 and the complete album entitled "POWER" in 1981. The musicians were: Carson Whitsett and John Alford on keyboards, Dino Zimmerman and Noel Godfrey on guitars, Ray Griffin on bass, James Robertson & Ken Shaw on drums, Joe Shamwell & John Alford on synthesizers. Eddy Marquis - Saving lots of people 1985

He born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was musically inclined since early childhood and was taught how to play the organ and keyboards. He started out singing with various vocal groups in Hudson County. He was your typical teenage street corner singer. From 1966 on, he sang and played Hammond Organ with several groups. Throughout the years he had the pleasure of working with and sharing the stage with music legends like Tavares, The Tramps, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, The Platters, Larry Chance and the Earls, Darlene Love, Felix Cavaliere and the Rascals, as well as many others. In 1985 he released beautiful song entitled “Saving lots of people” on United Rhythm Records. It was recorded at Fox Studios. Arranged by J.Lepore and E.Malaquias. Produced by E.Malaquias. Tony Love - We're doing it together 1980

It is very difficult to find information about Tony Love. I want to mention that don't be confused Tony Love with the other artist who released some singles in the early 70s entitled “ One man’s woman ” on Ahura Mazda Records and " Crying time is over " on Instant Records. He is an unknown singer. In 1980 he recorded two songs entitled " We're doing it together " and " My feelings will never change "  for Ham-Sem Records. Both of them were released as a 7 incher and 12 incher respectively. Composed by Marshall McQueen Jr. McQueen had collaborated with great artists such as Leon Haywood, Chuck Strong, J.D.Hall, Ted Taylor and Charles Breckinridge Overton known as C.B.Overton. Willis Jackson - Sideshow 1975

Willis Jackson born on April 25, 1932 Miami, Florida and he died on October 25, 1987 New York. From his late teenage, Willis ‘Gator’ Jackson played tenor saxophone in many bands in his home state before attending university where he studied music theory. From the late 40s into the mid-50s he played in various editions of the small band led by Cootie Williams. Overlapping this spell with Williams, Jackson led his own band on tours and for recording sessions. He also recorded with his then-wife, Ruth Brown. Although Jackson’s playing and composing up to this time had been strongly inclined towards R&B, he also played with bop musicians including founding fathers Charlie ‘Bird’ Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. From the early 60s he was active on the east coast, continuing to record and in the late 70s led a tenor-organ combo featuring Carl Wilson (organ), and Pat Martino (guitar). Tim Stevens - Got to be free 1981 Lp

Three months ago, July 30, I had presented a single by Tim Stevens entitled " Are you the one ", that wasn't included on the album in 1981. Now I have the pleasure of presenting the album entitled " Got to be free " on Pittsburgh International Records. It was recorded at Melwood Recording Studio. Arranged by "Doctor" Leonard Johnson II, Tim Stevens and The High Energy Band. The High Energy Band were Tony T.C.Crunkleton on guitar, Larry "The Funk Master" Estes on bass and guitar, "Doctor" Leonard Johnson III on piano and Ray Scott on drums. Also some artists were Kenny Blake sax on " Blue Monday ", Chuck Austin flugelhorn on " It's friday again ". Ronnie Cockran and Ronnie Jones on guitars, Ron Fudoli and Milton Leonard on bass, Nelson Harrison on trompone, Clarence Oden on sax. Lydia Budd, The Budd Sisters, Samson & Delilah, Penny & Crystal Wilson, Karen Simpson and Penny Turner on vocals.

Bobbi Walker - Are you ready for love 1982

Bobbi Walker recorded two albums. 1st album in 1980 on Casablaca Records entitled "Diamond in the rough". Two years later she released a self-titled album on Alfa Records. It was recorded at Jennifudy Recording Studios, North Hollywood, California. In album participated Leon Pendarvis and Joe Sample on keyboards, Jeff Mironov and Barry Finnerty on guitars, Nathan East on bass, Ricky Lawson and Ed Green on drums, Larry Williams on synthesizers, Paulinho Da Costa on percussion. Also Wilton Felder saxophone on " We all have a star ". Horn Section by Chuck Finley, Gary Grant and Larry Williams. Rhythm arranged by Leon Pendarvis. Orchestral arrangements by Steve Tyrell.
