Edna Wright - If the price is right



Edna Wright was born in L.A. in 1944. She is the younger sister of vocalist Darlene Love. Wright was a member of an L.A.-based vocal group called the Blossoms. In the '60s, Wright performed gospel with the Church of God in Christ Singers; Wright sang backup for various artists, including Ray Charles and the Righteous Brothers. And she also did some recordings as a solo artist in the '60s using the pseudonym Sandy Wynns. In 1969 she formed Honey Cone and hired Shellie Clark and Carolyn Willis. She released her first solo album entitled "Oops! Here I Go Again" on RCA Records. Produced by Greg Perry. Horn & string arrangements by H.B.Barnum and McKinley Jackson.

Sadly after that LP, Wright didn't record any other solo albums but she sang backing vocals for various pop, R&B and gospel artists.

The exact year of release is not quite clear. Although the vinyl label is printed in 1977, the back cover of the LP jacket reads 1976. Also the CD reissue mentions the year of 1977. It might be a printer's error.

The Muglestons - The Muglestons 1977 Lp

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson.
