Roger Cruz - Here we are again



I decided to present this scarce, an obscure 7 incher for one reason. Where are all those radio-producers and DJs from England who think they know all about black music? Why haven't they discovered it by now? Some months ago I bought it on GEMM for a few money. No comments.

Roger Cruz (born 1947) was an unknown singer. It is worthy to mention that Gene Page helped him as arranger. He released this single entitled "Here we are again / With lover on the side" on Trac Records label from Washington. Date of creation 1982.
I have chosen "Here we are again". Composed by Roger and Linda Cruz. Produced by himself. Enjoy it!

I'd have to agree with anonymous on this one, the UK soul crowd isn't as in to blue eyed singers as their continental friends & this probably wouldn't be considered soul.

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson. This production featured Motown-style musical arrangements by Danny Holgate and Horace Ott and direction by Billy Wilson. The show closed on February 13, 1977 after 239 performances and 12 previews.
