The Johnny Otis Show - feat Barbara Morrison - Hey boy! I want ya'

I had the pleasure to present Barbara Morrison three years ago, when I presented the album from the legentary guitarist David T. Walker entitled "With a smile". Barbara Morrison sang the song "Dreams in flight".

Barbara Morrison was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan and was raised in Romulus, Michigan. She recorded her first appearance for radio in Detroit at the age of 10. She has collaborated with great musicians such as Gerald Wilson, Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Charles, James Moody, Etta James, Joe Sample, David T.Walker, Leslie Drayton, Johnny Otis and many others.
Barbara Morrison worked with Johnny Otis for many years. The collaboration of Johnny Otis and Barbara started about in the mid 70s. In the late 70s Johnny Otis released a single under the name The Johnny Otis Show entitled "Hey Boy ! I Want Ya / Nigger, Please". It was released on Jazz World Records and was never included on any album by Johnny Otis. It was distributed by ALA Records.

I have chosen the song "Hey boy ! I want ya". It was written by Tony Hithe. Produced by Johnny Otis, Tony Hithe and Carlos Pueblos.

In 2001, this song was included on CD called Johnny Otis & Friends - Watts funky.

Note: The above posted single is not played in full
