Gene Chandler - Please you tonight 1986


While I was thinking of what I can present, I decided to write an article that it is not rare but it is very interesting. All the fans of soul music know the great Gene Chandler. I could speak many days for him. However I suggest you to see about him in wikipedia.
Although the song "Please you tonight" is not one of my favorites, it is very nice. In fact this song is the flip-side of "Lucy". It was released as a single entitled "Lucy / Please you tonight" on FastFire Records in 1986. Both of these songs were included on the album "Your love looks good on me" which was released on the same label a year ago.
The song "Please you tonight" was written by Donald Burnside and Gerald Cooper. Produced by Donald Burnside, Gerald Cooper and Gene Chandler.
Backing vocals by Diane Madison, Donald Burnside, Shawn Christopher, Theresa Davis and Yvonne Gage.

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson. This production featured Motown-style musical arrangements by Danny Holgate and Horace Ott and direction by Billy Wilson. The show closed on February 13, 1977 after 239 performances and 12 previews.
