Lulu - (Self titled) 1981 Lp



Lulu Kennedy-Cairns was born Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie on 3 November 1948 in Lennoxtown, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Lulu grew up in Dennistoun, Glasgow. She attended Thomson Street Primary School and Onslow Drive Junior School. She started her career at an early age. She became known especially in the late 60s when she appeared in both films and several television series. She also represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1974 she performed the title song for the James Bond film "The Man with the Golden Gun". 
In 1981 she released an album on Alfa Records from Los Angeles. The musicians that participated were Lynton Naiff, Mike Moran on keyboards, Alan Jones and Alan Tarney on bass, Ronnie Caryl and Ray Russel on guitars, Graham Jarvis, Trevor Spencer and Peter Van Hooke on drums, Ray Cooper on percusion. Backing vocals by Carol Kenyon, Tony Rivers and Ronnie Carrol.


String and horn arrangements by Lynton Naiff and Mike Moran. Produced by Mark London. I have chosen three tracks entitled "If I were you" , "You win, I lose" and "I could never miss you".







I want to mention that the song "Who's foolin who" was nominated for Grammy Award. "Who's foolin who" was released as a single with "You win, I lose" as the B-side and peaked at #106 on Billboard.

The Muglestons - The Muglestons 1977 Lp

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson. This production featured Motown-style musical arrangements by Danny Holgate and Horace Ott and direction by Billy Wilson. The show closed on February 13, 1977 after 239 performances and 12 previews.
