Dorothy Moore ‎– Once More With Feeling 1978 Lp

Image
--> I'm sorry for the delay. I was very busy. I had the opportunity to present Dorothy Moore and the single  " Talk To Me-Every Beat Of My Heart / Lonely "  about five years ago. In my opinion Dorothy Moore deserved more recognition because she has recorded excellent songs in her career. I often hear some of them during the free hours of the day. I want to note that one of the best albums of Dorothy Moore is the album of 1978, called " Once More With Feeling ". I suggest that everyone buy this record. It is worthy to have it in your personal collection. It was released on Malaco Records and includes some brilliant songs. Participated in this album  Don Barrett on bass, James Stroud on drums, Dino Zimmerman and Fred Knobloch on guitars, Carson Whitsett on keyboards. Backing vocals by Jeanette Williams, Jewel Bass, Kathy Young, Donna Rhodes, Charles Chalmers and  Sandra Rhodes. Arranged by Charles Chalmers, Mickey Davis and Mike Lewis . Produ...

Image
Bob Anderson  is a great singer, actor and entertainer . He  started a genre in show business that became one of the most popular forms of entertainment on stage today. Merv Griffin , the well known talk show host discovered Bob’s unique talent one evening at his Hollywood Hills home and decided to introduce him to the world on the next taping of his TV show from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Griffin introduced Bob as “ The Singing Impressionist ”. The audience response to his performance was overwhelming. Griffin brought the young performer back for a second appearance and the response was the same. Soon after that appearance he became a regular on the TV talk show circuit performing over 100 national TV shows including; HBO , Showtime , Regis , David Letterman , and The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson where Bob again received such a grand audience response on his Tuesday appearance that Johnny invited him back just two days later for another appearance on Thurs...

Lee Mays - Real Love (Upcoming CD)

Image
Three years ago, I had the opportunity to present an article concerning Lee Mays and the album named " Shine Your Love " which was released in 1976. It has been a few years since then, and Lee Mays returned back on recordings with a new album entitled " Real Love ".  For the past 15-17 years Lee Mays has written several songs which were "stashed away". The question has always been whether or not the tunes written years ago would ever be heard. Fortunately, the dream for Lee has come true and the songs are available for the world to hear. It is worth to say that along with the dream of Lee, we have the pleasure to hear great songs that should be our companion along the evenings". This album includes the song " Do you wanna be my baby " which I presented on my article three years ago. It was written by Lee Mays and recorded in Dallas, Texas. Lee Mays on lead vocals, Derrick "D-Mac" McCampbell on background voc...

A Short Tribute To Charles Love of Bloodstone

Image
Left to Right: Willis Draffen Jr, Harry Williams, Charles McCormick and Charles Love I decided to make an article for a short tribute to Charles Love founder, singer, songwriter and guitarist of the group Bloodstone who died a few a days ago on 7 March 2014 due to complications from pneumonia in his home town of Kansas City, Missouri. The group was formed in 1962 during a talent show at Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Chris Martino & Tram - (Self-titled) Lp

Image
After having a break for a few days, I'm here presenting an extremely rare album. Today my article is not a soul album but it is very interesting. It was released probably between 1976 and 1977. Chris Martino,  a native Italian, was born in Corleone, a small town in Sicily. He left with his family to USA.  He began singing and playing guitar at an early age. He has recorded for RCA records and Art Kass's Buddah records. He joined in the group Tram  in the mid 70s and they formed a group under the name  Chris Martino & Tram . The members were Chris Martino on vocals, Doreen Vincent on vocals, piano and violin, Mike Kureczka on vocals and drums, Tom Leonardis on vocals and lead guitar, and Gene Wargacki on vocals, piano, organ and bass. They appeared in concerts and various clubs across the country. They released at least two albums, this self-titled album and a live album named " Live At The Drop Zone " where Chris Martino sings some favorite itali...

The Stage Corp feat. Beverly Flowers - Take Me Right Now 1981

Image
The Stage Corporation was an unknown soul funk vocal group from Columbus,Ohio. The members of the group were Stan Embry , Francine Embry , Beverly Flowers , Jack Marchbanks . They started under the name " Paragon ". However they changed their name because there was already another Afro-Carribean vocal group with the same name. The group was unlucky because they had the opportunity to open for Teddy Pendergrass at the Columbus Convention Center and hoped to win a recording contract with Philadelphia International Records but the concert never happened. A few days before the concert, Pendergrass was involved in an automobile accident. He suffered a spinal cord injury, leaving him a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the chest down.   The group has recorded several songs. All the songs were written by Jack Marchbanks. Most of them today are unreleased. However in 1981 they released a single entitled " Take Me Right Now / Desire " on DoubleTree Records. I ha...

C.K.Dexter-Heaven - Let's make a memory 1981

Image
C.K.Dexter-Haven is an uknown singer who performed mainly in the early 80s. I have seen two records by him. The first is named " Let's make a memory " and the second " That's why (I love you so) ". Both were released as a single.  Today I'm presenting the song " Let's make a memory " which was released as a single on Crosby Ave.Records in the early 80s. The flipside is enitled " C.K's Theme " and it is instrumental. Crosby Ave.Records is an indepedent label that was formed in the early 80s by Derek David , Yvonne Pagan and Benjamin Pagan in Brooklyn, N.Y. " Let's make a memory " was written by Yvonne Pagan. The name of the artist reminds everyone the name of the famous actor and singer of jazz music Bing Crosby who used this name " C.K.Dexter-Haven " in the film " High Society " which was released in 1956. However Bing Crosby and C.K.Dexter-Haven don't have...
