Keni Burke - Changes 1982 Lp



Born Kenneth M. Burke 1953 in Chicago, Keni began his career in music as a young teen with his family group The Five Stairsteps.
When the group disbanded, Keni cut a solo album for Dark Horse in 1977 and worked consistently as a session bass player.
In 1981 he cut a new solo album deal with RCA and came back with a vengeance on a song called "Let Somebody Love You". The album "You're The Best" was acclaimed as one of the year's top soul albums - but no one could have predicted what was to come next. In 1982 Keni returned with a new album "Changes". It was the album that included "Risin' To The Top".



The musicians were Stephen Ferrone on drums, Keni Burke on bass and guitar, Ed Moore on guitar, Sir Gant on keyboards, Vince Montana on vibes, Leonard Gibbs Jr. on percussion,Don Myrick, Rahmlee Davis, Louis Satterfield and Michael Harris on Horns. Background vocals by Barbara Ingram, Carla Benson, Evette L.Benton and Tawatha. Horn arrangements by Tom Tom 84. Arranged and produced by himself.
I chose two tracks entitled "All night" and "Hang tight".

The Muglestons - The Muglestons 1977 Lp

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson. This production featured Motown-style musical arrangements by Danny Holgate and Horace Ott and direction by Billy Wilson. The show closed on February 13, 1977 after 239 performances and 12 previews.
